Earn N Learn is a non-profit organization based in a tranquil corner of the Ghandi Ashram in Ahmedabad, India. The program provides children with a safe and loving alternative to street labor by providing them with after-school activities (tutorial classes, the design and production of handmade paper products,  english lessons and ongoing support in character education).  The children receive a fair wage for their work (no more than 2 hours per day) and are able to learn leadership skills, teamwork, honesty and creativity.  The students have already created some stunning handmade paper cards for us.

We are proud to announce a new initiative which will take place in Jaipur, India.  Kindness in Action will provide holistic support for individuals and their families affected by severe brain trauma.  We are calling this special project, “The Singing Tree”.  We are in the process of galvanizing many health care practitioners and social workers to help underserved families who struggle with the day to day care of their children with special needs.  Mr. Rimmu Khandelwal will manage this project.

The Kindness in Action Founder, Rachael Blair, has developed a kindness curriculum based on her book, Maya’s Gossamer, A Gentle Guide on How to Manifest Virtues in Children (January 2014 - Balboa Press).  She is now working on a second book which should be released in the fall of 2017.  It will have the same theme, however, the focus will be from a woman’s perspective. The kindness curriculum will be made available to all grades from K-12.  All profits made from the sale of both books will be donated to Kindness in Action to further their “Educating with Dignity” campaign.

NEWS January 2017

The Government of India has conferred the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award, to Dr. Suniti Solomon posthumously, for her pioneering work in the discovery of HIV infection in India and her yeoman service in shaping India's response to HIV.  Known to be more than just a doctor, she was a counselor, teacher, friend, philosopher, guide and even a matchmaker for her patients on occasions when nobody was willing to marry a HIV+ person.
